Premise: The practice of sport in young people with FEP or HR has been getting more and more important as confirmed by latest scientific literature. Physical activity can improve the quality of life of people with severe mental illness in two ways: improving physical health and attenuating psychiatric and social disability. Particularly in initial phases of illness, sport can play a crucial role both in preventing weight gain and reducing the risk of developing cardiovascular disease, chronic-obstructive pulmonary illness, metabolic disorders), and in enhancing engagement to treatment and activation. In Programma2000 we have structured a specific group of exercise and sport, in synergy with the other groups (motivation and healthy food) of the HeAL program and with the support of a no profit organization (Cambiare la Rotta onlus). Subjects: 15 FEP and HR patients from Programma2000, average age 23,13. Method and Activities: The group is led by a psychologist graduated in Physical Education and by an educator, guiding patients in the following activities: 1) Fitness club two or three times a week; 2) Outdoor activities (in a public park) or in multisport structures three times a month. Jogging Football; Volleyball: Basket; Swimming 3) Indoor activity (on Programma2000 site) once a week: Floor exercises, Aerobic exercises, Kardio Kombat exercises, stretching exercises. Measures: Cooper’s test, racing on 100 meters, Seargent’s test, BMI, Waist Circumference. The global outcome at 1 year follow up shows a reduction of BMI (T0=25,9 – T2=25) the poster shows all tests/retests of any specific index in detail.
